None of the batters registered two-digit scores, and it remains one of the most dreadful batting performances in IPL history.
68 all out vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (2022)
Brabourne Stadium witnessed one of the biggest meltdowns by a team batting first. RCB took on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2022 league stage fixture. They were asked to bat first, losing Faf du Plessis, Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell in the powerplay. The rest of the batters followed suit, with the Bengaluru outfit getting bowled out for 68, which SRH chased down with 12 overs to spare.
70 all out vs Chennai Super Kings (2019)
Parthiv Patel was a lone spectator as his team capitulated against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chidambaram Stadium in 2019. Put to bat first, things went south quickly for the visitors. Kohli, Moeen Ali, De Villiers, Shimron Hetmyer, and Shivam Dube were back in the pavilion inside ten overs. RCB lost all ten wickets for just 70 runs. If not for Parthiv’s 29, RCB could have rewritten their record for the lowest score in IPL history. RCB suffered a seven-wicket defeat.
70 all out vs Rajasthan Royals (2014)
Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium witnessed a horror batting display by RCB. Batting first, the then Virat Kohli-led side was bundled out for 70. RCB lost five wickets in the powerplay with just 17 runs on the board. It could have been even worse for the Red & Gold brigade if not for some contribution with the bat by Mitchell Starc and Ravi Rampaul. Rajasthan Royals clinched a six-wicket win.
82 all out vs Kolkata Knight Riders (2008)
The first-ever IPL match was a forgettable outing for RCB. After asking KKR to bat first, RCB bowlers faced the wrath of Brendon McCullum, who made an unbeaten 158. Chasing a mammoth 223, RCB succumbed to the pressure. The home side, captained by Rahul Dravid, was bowled out for 82, with Praveen Kumar the lone player with a two-digit score. It is the second-biggest win in terms of runs in the IPL history.
